Fountain Hacks

"Fountain Hacks is a project initiated by Diogo Aguiar and Teresa Otto (LIKEarchitects) with the fashion designer Ricardo Dourado. Together they used things like deck chairs, parasols and swimming pool stairs to get the people of Guimarães in Portugal paddling in the city’s fountains. "

"The idea of the project is to break down social boundaries that prevent the public from freely enjoying the fountains.
The project was simple and low-tech, inviting people with friendly and familiar objects to make proper use of the city's fountains, whether to dip their feet in the water or to really jump in."

"The installations have won the Performance Architecture prize for urban interventions as part of Guimarães’ year as a European Capital of Culture."
